Past: I don't know which is worst for an angel. Being denied entrance to heaven for saving the man she loves, or being deployed to the same city as the man, while being ordered to stay pure.
Dina is, or was, an angel. She was a stalwart warrior in heaven's army, all the way from when Lucifer rebelled against the heavens. Her determination in hunting down the angels that had joined Lucifer in his rebellion earned her much prestige. All in vain though, for it became null after her fall.
During the second World War, Dina observed humanity. As she was wondering if the war would leave enough people left for Rapture to have any meaning, she spotted a jewish family escaping from the nazis. She watched as they were all caught and shot, one by one, while they prayed, not for mercy from their captors but help from God. It was a troubling sight, troubling enough for her to ask God if this was all necessary. This angered god, for one of His own to question his plan. And so it was that Dina was stripped of her rank and cast down in Hell, ordered to survive and work her way out to prove her worth.
During her stay in Hell, he met a man, Gabriel. Unlike most of Hell's denizens, he wasn't a damned soul, but rather a living human. This was most unusual, and when he offered to hel her she was quick to agree, curious to learn more about him. Over time, she even developed feelings for him, most unusual again.
After a desperate gamble against Lucifer's daughter, they finally made their way to the first layer. That night, when Dina and Gabriel finally shared themselves with each other, she felt like she had enough power to to ascend from hell, but Gabriel would be left after. She knew her own crimes, but Gabriel was innocent in his eyes. He hadn't been condemned, he didn't deserve hell. So she did what she felt right, used her power to absolve Gabe and release him from Hell, on Earth.
This didn't help her case. God was furious, but other angels pleaded for her. She had saved someone in her place, surely that should count. God did take this in to count, and made His decicion. She had gone against the divine plan, so she wouldn't be allowed to Heaven. But she had saved a man from Hell, so she didn't deserve Hell either. It was Earth where she ended, to act as an agent of heaven. She was also ordered to live like an angel should, to be noble, shelfless, to help those in need and to be chaste. She was stationed in to Epitome City, which happened to be the same city where Gabriel resided. Why? Was it by accident? was it to tempt her? She suspects the latter, but in reality…
