No one likes doing work when they want to play a game. That is why the Staff exists: To do things for others to make the game more enjoyable for everyone. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Running Events for others.
- Approving characters.
- Answering ruling questions.
- Keeping the peace and helping in player/GM interactions (conflicts).
- Expanding Epitome City and adding to the setting and/or plot.
- Helping new players understand the system and create characters.
This is a lot to ask of people. This is why it's best to not expect every single person to do *every* single thing on that list—it's best to have people that intend to do one or two things especially, with the obvious expectation that if there is no one else to perform that role, they will step up and do it, if need be. So I want everyone on the staff to pick a minimum one, maximum three, things they're most willing to do. By picking these things, you're saying to the other members on staff that they can rely on you to do that duty when needed. If there's nothing on this list you feel qualified to do, then ask yourself what *do* you think you're able to do that merits a Staff role for EC? Wanting to help and actually helping are two different things.
I'll update this post (or you can, if you've got the permissions) to include yourself in the original topic, listing things you're willing to do and anything you want known for the other staff members. The list:
- Ashton [2, 3, 4] - As the server host and as someone who has spend at least a little time reading up on the rules of MnM 2e, I'm willing to undertake the Character approval process. I'm willing to even do this by myself, if it's necessary, as approving characters should involve some factchecking of a character's abilities, to ensure they're not doing anything just to min/max in some absurd way. I'm also willing to answer rule questions and handle issues between players. While I have GM'd before, it is not something I enjoy especially.
