Friends! I will not keep you long. I am writing this to you for a purpose. Indeed, for four purposes. First of all, to tell you that I am immensely fond of you all, and that these few short months have been far too short a time to to rpoperly run a game for such excellent and admirable players. I don’t know half of you half as well as I would like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Second, yes, the current run of Epitome City is dead. It's not pining, it's passed on. This game is no more. It has ceased to be. It's expired and gone to meet its maker. This is a late game. It's a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in peace. It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-game.

Thirdly, I would like to give a round of acknowledgments. I would like to thank Jujun, for bringing to my knowledge the news of EC being brought back to life. I'd like to thank Ashton for all the help he gave us, and for giving us such a nice spot on the server. I'd like to thank Frankie for taking up the duty of character approving alongside Jujun when Ashton stepped down. I'd like to thank Choco for his tireless work in bringing EC back and advertizing the game. I'd like to thank N for sacrificing a LOT of her time doing a great job at character approving, and for taking up the duty of whipping the monkeys in line after Ashton's departure. I would also like to give my most humble apology for not doing a good enough job as a GM to keep EC interesting enough to keep the players coming back.

Fourthly, I am not giving up. Epitome was frankensteined back together once, so it can be done again! But this PW format isn't really working, as some of you might have noticed. Thus, I am proposing an alternative. I am offering to run a weekly game in EC setting. I haven't decided yet if it's a strictly weekly game, or if it's more like weekly events where it's still possible to players to RP between each other during the off time. The latter sounds more appealing I'm sure, I just hope this wont cause people to start running events that'll prove superior to mine and screw up the story I've been setting up. Anyways, I already have some players lined up for the game, so if you wish to do so too, post in this thread. There's room for at least few more players I'm sure. PL is 8, with 120 PP. You can use an existing character, just nerf him/her down to the requited PL and PP, or you can make a new one. Same creation rules apply as before, but I will be responsible of approving the characters this time so if you think you can get something past my radar, feel free to try. I do not encourage it however.

An eldritch abomination ravaged the city, heroes killed it. Simple enough.

A bloodrive was held, where the organicer seemed keen on getting blood of supers. There was a lot of suspicious stuff related to it…

Zerimiah, Suzuka and Athena 2,5PP.

Paul Sanders 1PP.

5PP to the owerflow pool, dumped on Dina.

Re: Archie's events. by Moosh50Moosh50, 03 Jun 2011 05:48

Nah, they save them up and spend them.

That said, already assigned traits can fall into the "remake" rule of 1/month, as to not flood out approvers with these requests to raise their PL.

May 28.

A motivational speaker held a group therapy session at the school, making somehow everyone attending, except Zerimiah, fall asleep. Later he told the attending heroes of a blood drive being held later at his church, asking them to attend. This is a lead up for anothe event.

Zerimiah, Suzuka and Athena 3PP.

6PP in to overflow pool, divided 50/50 between Ward and Dina.

Re: Archie's events. by Moosh50Moosh50, 29 May 2011 18:28

Wait, I'm confus. Are you saying that one could take already used PP from his/her traits and use them to pay the cost?

Re: PL cap raised to 9 by Moosh50Moosh50, 27 May 2011 12:55

You may raise your PL to 9 for the cost of 45 pps.

If this adjustment makes your pp total less than 120, you can't raise your PL yet.

The max pp your character may have as of this post is 179 pp due to global caps, basically, a character that has been with us from the beginning or has RP'd a lot, can probably pay this cost. This also lowers your global cap available, so as of this post, your character could only have 134 pp max spent in traits and PL 9.

This raise in cap doesn't include the pp cost of raising anything else though.

Choose wisely, and enjoy heroing all!

A little girl was lost in the city, almost got kidnapped by power ranger wannabies, but Crowley, Tonla amd Wong came to the rescue. Afterwards Crowley had to save the girl from Tonla.

Crownley and Tonla 2PP.

Not sure what to give to Wong, since he was part of the event for three rounds of combat, two of them which he spent Snared.

4PP in to GM's overflow pool, all of which dumped on Dina.

Replacing Characters - You can only remake 1/month

This means your second character is fine to be approved right away.

Replacing any character is only available once a month.

This is to alleviate some of the time pressure put on the approvers currently, as well as to give PCs serious thought before remaking… As PC loss should be a big one.

Thank you in advance for making EC a better and happier place!

"I have made a Character Sheet that you can use, simply go down to the bottom of the page, click on '+Options', then click on 'Page Source'. Copy and paste the template to your newly-created page, then simply fill it all out as you go along. Once you've filled it out, show it to a GM to get them to approve it. Once it's approved, it'll be added to the list of characters and you can being roleplaying with everyone.

Use of the sheet or similar wikidot format with PPs broken down is mandatory, mythweavers, along with excel sheets do not have a history that GMs can look through for suspect changes, and thus are not EC legal."

This is mainly due to the issue of pp tracking as well as easily seen history of changes made to a sheet. Again, accountability as well as ease of use for GMs.

I hope PCs will understand, and enjoy a much faster approval process when this is followed.

These changes are retroactive, so PCs must re-do their sheets in wikidot format if they haven't already.

Thank you in advance.

Tell me what time the event is and Athena -will- be available

Re: Prom? by NayomiNayomi, 08 May 2011 17:46

She was quoting me, for the record. And I stand by what I said.

PC's should never be given special favors or allowances because they're a villain. Or a hero. Or a vigilante. Or someone's sex slave. Or someone's deity. None of that matters—PCs should all be bound by the same ruleset.

That said, there's nothing stopping an NPC from being PL 10. Or 20. Or 1000. or, even, 9000. But there should be common sense used when it comes to NPCs: They are not characters, they are not there to just bitchslap the PC's every time they show up. If your NPC is PL 10 just to curbstomp people, it's likely a staff member would/should revoke your capacity to run NPCs, either that one specifically, or NPCs altogether. It's a privilege to be able to make NPC's and use them at any given time—if you can't handle that, then you simply won't be allowed to do it.

There's no true rule when it comes to NPC approval, but if you're going to make them higher than the normal PL you should probably consider getting someone's okay about it, as raising (or lowering) the powerlevel for NPC's creates serious gaps.

I'm interested, in either taking Athena, Kevin L, or Higgs depending on who's on at the time of this event.

I'd love to try- but I doubt anyone wants Kevin as a Date. Maybe he can chaperon?

Re: Prom? by blake_mercerblake_mercer, 08 May 2011 05:25

I'm aware of people being shot down for trying to get away with PL PCs with the justification of "my PC's a villain", but as written your post seems to be suggesting that non-staff members are not allowed to run NPC villains over PL 8.

This is a tad silly because as far as I'm aware there's nothing preventing a hypothetical person who can't run a PL 10 NPC from running six PL 8 NPCs in their place?

I also know that there's no categorical ban on above-PL-8 NPC villains because when I asked if I could use one I was told, well… many apologies to the GM in question if they'd rather not be quoted, but,
"NPC's can be any powerlevel you want them to be. Just keep in mind how much of an advantage it is against a typical player and whatnot and don't go crazy."

P.S It's me.

I don't even know how to deal with this, you don't list out reasonable or logical arguments as to why a NPC Villian can't be a higher level so that when 5-6 players team up on the one villian it doesn't die in one round. The Villian that is for display for the public if they just wanted to look at it on this Wiki.
