Rhazul

Rhazul

Rhazul was born around 60AD. His full name would not only take too long to say but one or two of the names are unpronouncable. Rhazul was plagued by a mental disease that acted like an extreme form of OCD. He craved balance in everything. Hs house was a perfect circle, he had an even number of everything, he even made sure to sleep in the middle of his bed. He spent the majority of his life ostracized by others. These social stresses led to more mental problems such as parnoia, agoraphobia, and a few others.
He was making the short trip to the market sometime near sundown being riduculed on the way there as usual. Today happened to be even worse for Rhazul than the norm which was pretty bad anyway. He was seen by a group of drunkards who didn't think much of Rhazul. He was ganged up on and beaten down with clubs, rocks, and other implements of abuse. But he didn't die. Perhaps it was his balanced physical health or his odd amount of willpower but he didn't die from the beating. Instead he was left there with a large amount of broken bones, and bleeding from more places than not. He died shortly thereafter, and for once in his miserable life, Rhazul was happy, because he saw true balance.
He was given the cosmic knowledge that is given to people upon death. There was just one problem. Rhazul was pulled back to his body. Normally that cosmic knowedge is taken back upon returning to your physical body as it would shatter a human mind, but Rhazul was lucky (or unlucky) because he was allowed to keep a small scrap of it. What he would soon find out is that it was exponentially more than any human could ever hope to know in a thousand lifetimes.
He woke up in a bed with the morning sun shining through a small window and an old woman standing over him with an armful of herbs and jars of mysterious balms and such. He then realized that he was hurting. Everywhere.
After she gave him something for the pain he tried to breathe deeply and meditate. This ended up being a bad idea because when he centered himself there seemed to be a small *click* in his mind and suddenly he had a vivid hallucination of the cosmos. He saw suns dying and being born, he saw the entire history of man and a few other races in what seemed to be seconds. he saw the entire history of a thousand other races. He saw that true balance, is imbalance. Knowing that the universe asserts equilibrium at all times. If someone powerful represents one end of the spectrum, someone powerful from the other end will rise up.
In his knowledge he found that the universe wasn't immovable as we thought but very flexible. Able to cope to anything. So he found out how to maneuver that flexibility. He was able to move himself and objects through the universe by making the starting point, and the destination, the same place. He also learned that life is easy to duplicate with minor flaws but impossible to create.
He was eventually back to full health after a very long time of the woman taking care of him. To repay her he made her a new house. Out of thin air. He also cleared a plot of unused land and gave her a full garden while also hiring a young boy to work for her until she passed away. He paid him with a diamond the size of a human head. People questioned his power. Some people thought him to be performing cheap tricks of light, others thought him to be the messiah reborn again, and others thought him to be an evil sorcerer practicing the dark arts. His life continued in a less social direction
After that Rhazul just….disappeared. Some people think he was snatched up by God for having too much power for a mortal, others think he was killed in the night, and others still believe he is out there somewhere. In reality he just walked out of town during the middle of the night. He was in other places performing miracles and mischief. He found that no matter where he was people thought the same thing about what they didn't understand just in different words. He was thought to be a God by one small village and Satan incarnate by another halfway around the world.
Rhazul led a quiet life often performing his miracles and leaving within a week or two. That worked for him. Until technology caught up to his powers. He was a wanted man because the major governments of the world believed him too powerful to be left alone. They eventually caught him. Put him in super containment cells. Gave him pills that gave him a nasty artificial balance. Tried to torture information out of him.
Throughout this hell Rhazul kept most of his sanity though meditation. He became aware of his surroundings. He watched the guards, the torturers, the time. He eventually found a way to escape. He did and he fled to a city where the government had no say so over supers. The power hub of the twenty-first century. Epitome city.
