Past: The great silver space station slowly drifted over the planet, casting long shadows over the smokey mountain ranges and breaking the smogline to reveal the neverending plankton farms that lined the coast, tended to by mutants and lost ones. From the lower deck room's windows, the engineers enjoyed the neverending view of the planet they could never touch. Generations raised in sterility were unable to live in the thick polluted air below.

The Complete Regulated History said it was the supers. Unregulated and wild, their effect on the political, economic and ecological systems on the time were never apparent to the shortsighted men of the past. Only thanks to the Council of Nations did humanity survive that age of flash and bang. Now it seemed it might yet die in another, an age of sterility and peace, floating like a silver coffin above the poisoned planet below.

Going against regulations to perform unauthorized experiments was unthinkable, but the need was dire. The engineers prepared for the silent rebellion- to send their best and greatest back in time to prevent the strangulating control of the Council. Instead, the night before, the machine was activated and melted down- a copy of the Complete Regualted History left outside the room.

N'tali wanted a chance to experience the world. Under the Regulations, that would never be allowable. Her parents lived and died on this ship, never once knowing a sunrise. Yet, breaking the regulations, she would never be able to come back. They would come for her. The only way to get what she wanted was to stop the calamities of the past from ever occuring. The regulated history says the heroes are responsible.
